Equestrian center
& rural stud farm

Just an hour drive from Lisbon you can have the opportunity to have the full dressage experience. Here we provide you lessons that will bring new knowledge and riding skills to raise into a higher level of dressage.

We can offer

  • Private dressage lessons
  • Trail rides

At Quinta da Várzea you can have incredible weekends, with unique experiences, involving the Rural World and our Lusitanos. A farm with history, completely renovated and updated, with hints of refinement where you can relax and feel at home, in the peace that the countryside offers.

All of this in combination with the Olympic horse discipline “Dressage”, which above all will serve to train the rider more than the horse. All the movements that horses exhibit in the arena are natural to them, and none have been taught by man.

Thus, Dressage is mainly to train the rider to understand how to signal the horse correctly, through subtle movements on the reins and changes in the rider’s position. Dressage requires a deep understanding between horse and rider to create the symbiosis and the maximum performance within riding.
