In 2017 we have joined forces with the amazing rider and trainer Manuel Borba Veiga. QDV and Manuel have now made it possible to have private lessons with Manuel as well as Carlos here at Varzea.

Ria Marie McDonald

Organisational Manager for all horse management, horses and equipment.

Ria works to bring the spirit and culture of UK, Denmark and Portugal to one common symbiosis and you will always find her organising and making sure all horses are in best shape and ready to bring you safely around in the beautiful Varzea landscape.

Carlos Maldonado

Carlos Maldonado is the student of Manuel Veiga. Carlos is the daily rider and he is supported by Ria in his daily work. Manuel, Carlos and Ria have created a strong instructor team. Carlos aim at starting international Grand Prix.

Marco de Silva

Responsible for the reconstruction of all buildings and the agriculture management of the farm including Cork Oak. Pines and hay harvest. Marco is very skilled and use local craftmanship to preserve the Portuguese building culture.
